Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from November 2 to November 8, 2018!

Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:

Frame 1:
Sega has renewed the trademark for the Virtua Fighter logo

OK, so a trademark renewal doesn’t promise anything; but at least Sega is keeping the property in their pocket, and if we’re lucky, this could lead to something even better…

Frame 2:
Nidhogg 2_20170815123031
Nidhogg II stabs and splatters its way onto Nintendo Switch on November 22

I think the Switch is a great platform for this title — hopefully we might see some of the extra content we were promised a ways back…?

Frame 3:

Lazybones2020 spends some time with the current build, and goes a few rounds with the MASTER to see how DOA6 is coming along.

Frame 4:
super smash bros ultimate ssbu logo white 750x400
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC character roster has already been finalized

Yep, at least the first round of DLC has been locked in before the game has hit retail. You can all decide individually how much that triggers your content-gating rage.

Frame 5:
Tsunehiro “Gachikun” Kanamori becomes a Red Bull Athlete

Seeing Gachikun’s deadly Rashid on the CPT this year, this was a question not of “if” but “when” he would be signed!

Frame 1:
Omen of Sorrow’s launch trailer reveals Arctorious and Thalessa

I genuinely think Arctorious’s design is stronger than anything in the main roster. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Frame 2:
Core-A Gaming interviews Initial T, the steering wheel controller Dogura killer

You can count me in the group of extremely wrong people that never thought they’d live to see a steering wheel beat a world champion in any fighting game.

Frame 3:

Namco announces bug fix patch in development for SoulCalibur VI to address Meterless CE, Balance Changes, and more

No, really, how does the same very specific meter-free bug happen to the same company twice across two different games?

Frame 4:
Sailor Moon S
Giant Bomb ranks Sailor Moon S in the top 20 of their list of all fighting games

I don’t care that it’s satire: I’m just happy to see this game continue to pop up on people’s radar.

Frame 5:
t7 tekken 7 marshall law
KYSG_Guc breaks the combo meter — and just about everything else — in this Law video for Tekken 7

Guc’s combo videos consistently leave me speechless. Please look at this thing and contemplate how he thought of some of these scenarios.
