The Eternal Flame of Soul Edge’s will reignites!

With the game’s release now less than a month away — as well as the 2018 Tokyo Game Show in full-swing — there has been an absolute massive amount of news and footage trickling out for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s SoulCalibur VI. While we’ve already seen the official reveals of Cervantes de Leon and Raphael Sorel, as well as a large amount of footage from pro players Kayane and Hayatei, another huge leak has apparently sprung: Inferno, the flaming physical embodiment of Soul Edge.

The series starting titular antagonist is reportedly obtainable after reaching Level 20 in the Soul Chronicle mode, taking up the currently-open slot in the middle of the character select screen between Sophia and Geralt, and will serve as the game’s Mimic character, who will battle with the styles of randomly-chosen fighters among the entire available cast by generating weapons from his body, just as he did back in SoulCalibur I.

YouTuber Dynasty speculates that, due to the text displayed upon acquiring him, that there could possibly be other “Bonus” characters, but that obviously remains to be seen. You can see the full video, as well as some images of Inferno on Twitter, below.

What do you think of this latest news? Are you excited to see the Classic Boss officially return to the Stage of History? Are you disappointed that he appears to be a Mimic character, ala Edge Master or Mokujin? Or are you hoping for some more secret unlockable characters that haven’t been revealed yet, when the game launches? Sound off in the Comments section.

SoulCalibur VI will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on Friday, October 19th.
