SNK announces Samurai Spirits for PlayStation 4

Since last week, SNK has been counting down to a new game announcement. It seems we now know what that that game is: Samurai Spirits is coming to PlayStation 4!

For those who may not be familiar with it, Samurai Spirits is the Japanese name for Samurai Shodown. The new game was announced at Sony’s event, where they revealed their lineup for the 2018 Tokyo Game Show. [Based on official Twitter and YouTube references from SNK, the new game may also go by the Samurai Shodown name in the West, as titles in the series have before. – Editor]

Details for the game are scarce, aside from the fact that it’s running on Unreal Engine 4, and is scheduled to arrive sometime next year. However, more should be revealed on the official site soon. It appears to be a remake of the original title, but with an updated art style.
