Anyway, congrats to the winners, and thanks to everyone who attended. We had a great turnout, much better than expected for a small local tourney like this. I was hoping to get maybe a dozen, and we had over 20 people show up. Hopefully we can all do this again sometime, I think there will be some vids posted later. I hope everyone had a great time. Thanks again, and I hope we all fight again sometime.

Good games to everyone there yesterday. A turn out of 20+ for a random Memphis tourney is crazy and hopefully a sign of more to come in the future.

PowerPlay Staff: Thanks for hosting the event and running an efficient bracket even with the dual systems issue. I think in general that was probably the best "first" tourney at a location like this I have ever been to. I think Majin may have already spoke to you about adding Tekken 6 to the line up and I know I am all for that myself too. Thank you again

Hiryu: I have to say I was worried about the Gen situation after last week so I spent some serious time in training mode on how to deal with his primary tricks and wacky jump. Able mirror matches are always kind of crazy but thats the nature of mirror matches in general. And what the hell is up with so many Able players in Memphis? Wow! Also you may want to add who the people played to the results so they know how the character breakdown is in our area.

Duckie: Man it was good you got to come down and bring out the best stick I have ever laid eyes on. I wish I got a chance to mess with it in casuals more, since its octagonal, but time was not on our side. Next time we will have to finish our full ten games in HDR. I have to say I did not expect a Sagat pick. Are you really pocket change though with a bye *shuts his dirty whore mouth*

Lil Majin: I doubt you will see this here but if you do GGs on our match man. I have been wanting to get a chance to try out your Geif for quite a while. Back to practice so I can catch you in the finals next time

Jan: Man that Blanka match was crazy. Your Blanka has gotten much better. That super trick was something I learned about and really started implementing a few months ago. That super can either be hit invulnerable, grab invulnerable or fireball invulnerable depending on the button used to activate it. I knew you were not going to give me a free ultra so I just waited on my super. As a note it will also beat Blanka's ultra clean too. ;) Plus I was gunning for you after you whipped me last Wednesday. Thank you recording some of the matches I can't wait to see them and good job taking top 5.

Lycan: Man those clutch demons against Shin were quite a thing to behold. I am not sure if they got that on tape but if so I can't wait to see it. Thank you for helping with a few of the bracket adjustments in Tio as well and providing a set up and stick for use by everyone. That really helped with the dual system issue. Also the matches on your DVD are in MPEG4 format which may not play on your default windows medial player. If they dont simply download VLC player from download.com. Its free and really easy to use

Boston Joe: Nice to meet you man. Your Sak is nasty. Resets, cross ups, damage and STUN all over the damn place. I can wait for the rematch of the loosers final. I have to say I was happy to see you did not go to Cammy for the second game though. Hopefully you can make it to the Wednesday gatherings.

Fly Mike: Glad to see you make it to show of Honda and the booty stick. That match against the other Blanka player was down to the wire and fun to watch. Let me know if you have any time this week to get some Tekken practice in too.

Shin: I don't think you post here either but if so thanks for coming out and supporting a new tourney in the area and dont give up on SF completely. I know its not Tekken but your Ryu is more than solid

Ian: Thanks for ruining my dream to rematch Majin in the finals. I need to level up some more. Very nice Rog play yesterday. Duckie was right when he told me he had a surprise coming for me this time. I hope you can make it to more of the Memphis tourneys. We dont really have another Rog player here, other than a few people who use him as a tertiary and its great practice.

Professor: Another I don't know if they will see it here but I was glad to see you make it out man. Your commentary of Majin's matches had me dying. I need to try out my Tekken skills on your Hwo so hopefully I can make a gathering at Ernie's or Sean's in the next week or so.

Eraser: Nice job tying for 7th man. I didn't get to see too many of your matches and I was hoping you would get a chance to play Lycan but it was not to be. I think you were the only Bison there but I could be wrong on that one.

Squabbler: Glad to see you were back at 100% health yesterday. If you do decide to make Able your main, which will make like 6 in Memphis, we can go through all kinds of set ups and practice on Wednesdays. You definitely want to pick pad or stick 100% though cause I think it will make it easier on you execution wise.

Anyone I may have missed or forgotten your name: My apologizes I met so many new folk yesterday and in general I suck with names. Thanks for coming out and we look forward to seeing you for the Wednesday gatherings. Also if any of you are free mid day and want to practice send me a PM. I work from home and it usually slows down a bit in the afternoon giving me a few hours.

Hey man, I meant to say. Go into training mode and practice that anti air f+roundhouse for like 30 minutes against different characters' jump archs. Specifically the characters used by people who play locally, for now. It'll REALLY change things. I'm watching these videos and that's the number one thing I notice.

Fox and Hound crew, that was one hell of a time at the bar! we need to do it more often!

It's too bad our waitress at Fox and Hound was scrub tier.

Shit I didn't even stay that long and I could see she was scrub tier. Granted her lack of skills plus the place being packed pretty much guaranteed ass service. At least you guys had fun. Just make sure you cut O off after the first jager bomb.

Man, I'm sorry Joe. I always order the same thing, so I never noticed the prices on other stuff. Had I known I'd probably recommended we hit Flying Saucer or Huey's instead. It's too bad you can't smoke in Huey's though. But they do have top-tier burgers, arguably the best in Memphis.

Oh well, it's something to plan for the next get-together. Hopefully next time we actually get some service worthy of the name.

Congrats to Hiryu, Sev, and Lycan for helping put it together a surprisingly good tourney. The turnout was a nice surprise. I was able to get a few matches recorded. Unfortunately, I got pretty tired trying to stand still and hold up the camera for extended periods so I wasn't able to get as much as I would have liked. I'll work on uploading those today.

Hiryu: I know you hate Blanka, but pretty soon I'll be the one hating on your Abel. Like I said before: You've gotten a lot better since I last played you. I appreciate your efforts in building up the Memphis fighting game scene.

Sev: That weird ass super thing really messed me up for the rest of our match. I probably should have stuck with Blanka, but I guess i was just trying to duplicate what happened earlier in the week. I should have known you'd be a lot more careful the next time around. Great match with Majin, though. I got the double KO recorded :-)

Lycan: I loved your match with Shinblade. I got the first match recored, but missed the 27 times you caught him with the raging demon lol. I had to put my camera down to go to my match. See you at the next get-together (that i show up to)

Boston Joe (No relation to Long Island Joe): I wonder if that nickname will stick. That Blanka vs Sakura match with you was CRAAAAZY. It was my favorite match of the night even though I lost. I still don't understand how I missed that Ultra, but whatever...it was a really great match :-)

Squabbler: I watched (and played against) your close matches. It's good to see your improvement in the last few months. Keep it up man!

Eraser: GG again. I was lucky to get that ultra out when you started working me over in the corner. i look forward to learning more about the Bison matchup from you in the future.

DaRabidDuckie: Its always good seeing you man. That booby stick is hilarious. I hope you had a safe trip back.
