Community members Fugee and Ghaleon are back, once again, to bring you their annual gift to fighting game players everywhere; Seasons Beatings 4! Running at MoMo2 KTV in Columbus Ohio starting tomorrow and going all weekend long, Seasons Beatings is in its fourth year and has become the tournament hot-spot for the cold winter season.
This year’s main event will be a rematch of the Evo2k9 Street Fighter 4 finals, in which Daigo “The Beast” Umehara will face off against Justin Wong in a first-to-ten-wins battle for worldwide supremacy. On top of that, tournaments for the hottest fighting games will be running all weekend with a live stream showing off the best and brightest matches from the USA’s greatest competitors. While the Daigo v. Justin event will not be streaming, the finals will be streamed all weekend, with the hottest games finishing up on Sunday. And as the icing on the delicious cake, Seth Killian himself will be in attendance to lend his commentary to the proceedings. Rumor has it that he is bringing the latest build of the US version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom with him to show off as well!
You can live it through the live video stream this weekend, or buy that last minute flight and come join us in Ohio for a holiday bash like you’ve never seen. Stay tuned to Shoryuken.com for a link to the live streaming site, or just keep an eye on the thread in our forums.

Why no Daigo/Justin stream? Seems a bit lame.
Are people paying to watch that match or something so you don’t want to give it away for free?
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Why not let people who want to watch it pay for it? Id pay a few bucks for the Daigo justin first to 10 stream. Make people pay via paypal. I don’t know if it will make as much as the dvd if there is one but im sure theyll make some money out of it. Allow people to pay for a “premium” stream too..Well thats how i would like to see it.

3rd strike sucks
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
seriously, why no stream for daigo vs jwong matches? seems like that’s what everybody is most interested… if dvd release or downloadable videos is why, you can charge people a certain prize to watch the matches live and option to download the videos later. I don’t mind paying for the videos later but live without knowing the results will be much better.

what’s up with these Daigo invitations??? they should try to bring some other top Japanese players over for a change. Personally, I love to see Mago, Shiro, Nemo, or one of the many great vipers players…
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
you dont get to see the first to 10. thats what you get for not going.
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
@DougSeason – They keep inviting Daigo because they want Justin Wong to finally get a few lucky wins against Daigo and beat him for once in a match so then he can boast about being the best, even though he’s lost every time against him in the past.
It’s like in the description “…Daigo “The Beast” Umehara will face off against Justin Wong in a first-to-ten-wins battle for worldwide supremacy.”, worldwide supremacy? That’s already been determined, it’s a rotation of people in Japan.. even if Justin Wong 10 – 0 Daigo (lol) it wouldn’t mean anything.

cant wait for stream!
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
shit, since Daigo will be here yet again. They should run a Daigo Umehara Kumite Version USA. lol Run a few of our top players at him (determination of these top players will be drama forsure), best of 5 matches each. That’ll be more interesting than Daigo vs Justin … yet again.
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
Not stream the main event? No hype.
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
Haha, surivival mode tournament just for Daigo. Place bets and see how far he can go.
Posted on October 15th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
Someone’s gonna have to record this with some shitty camera. We don’t all live in the US, fuck I’m not paying 3 grand to see that live
Posted on October 16th, 2009 at 1:04 am
Why aren’t they streaming the main event? It’s an insult to the community that’s too far to travel.

@Anonymous #11
What are you so pissy about? There was nothing lucky about Justin’s wins against Diago at evo ‘09 even though he didn’t win the whole set. Whether he beats Diago or not we should just expect some hype, close, and intense matches. IF he does beat Diago then it will mostly be the crowd hyping it up all crazy and he’ll just go along with it like most people would in such a situation.
Posted on October 16th, 2009 at 7:09 am
Well, there’s nothing wrong with them trying to make a little cash–these events just don’t put themselves together, you know. But to not even offer people the chance to see the “main event” via pay-per-view is kinda lame. I know plenty of people would pay to see Justin vs Diago.
But like another poster pointed out, there are other players in Japan that should be given some hype, too. I mean, Diago is cool and all but it would be nice to see some of the other top players that Japan has like Mago.

Not even a chance to see the main event until someone puts up their cell phone recording? I’d pay to watch that as long as it wasn’t obscene… oh well.

Easily the worst free stream ever, but the wifi is to blame. Seb and them are doing a good job, it’s really whoever picked out the venue and didn’t bother to research what kind of connection they would get that is to be blamed for the quality of the stream.
Posted on October 17th, 2009 at 5:56 pm
Research? This isn’t the first time SB has been at Momo’s, perhaps you should have bothered to do your research? First of all, Momo’s is the shit. Second of all, I’m sure that worrying about whether or not the wifi would be appropriate for hosting a *free* live stream was the least of Fugee’s worries. If it really bothers you, stop watching the stream and just purchase the DVD when it is released.

WOW! A rematch? Justin better not f-up and make U.S gamers look the way those foreign gamers portray us as… “Straight Noobs”. I’ve been playing online and reading the youtube comments and they just thing were scrub players all together. And watching the Official Tournament (because this 1 is local like a prizefight not a championship), when Justn got happy like a kids meal when he got a victory, But Daigo was humble like a servant and got thermal on him, and served him that legendary finest k’o hotness and embarrassed wong wone time, matter of fact, alot of times. This time i hope no rufus i was lmao. Why Columbus Ohio tho? Diago scared of NY? I wonder if they’ll ever have it in Florida? I hope they bring it here to Philly! Home of MLB World Series 08 Champions!

And why isn’t Capcom and these other companies (which makes the games that are being played) support these gaming tournaments? They could at least cover streaming support of these Major Tournaments of their products on their community board! I’m just saying, it’s their product thats being featured in these events, and with the economy acting up it’s best to keep your customer base at high volume or at least a good profit margin. I’m feeling “Gods Garden” live steam tournaments,I’ve seen some great matches with awesome finishes!

Your questions are very stupid. That is all.

@Shoryucannon
The people commenting on Youtube are retards / dick riding fags, most of whom live in America as they bash American players.

Just like in the SB4 poster, Daigo is above JW.. I guess he didn’t learn from Evo that getting up and acting all disrespectful to your opponent (especially one that can’t respond back) doesn’t make you a winner, too bad.. good matches but maybe leave the gimmicks and disrespect at the door.
Posted on October 18th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
Very intense finals I must say. A little skittish for J.Wong to chose a console character, but great game play from both in my opinion. The way that Daigo was able to download Wong’s Fei in the few matches that he did was very impressive.
I must agree with 33. though that the cocky attitude and disrespect is pretty lame. Especially since Daigo can’t respond back.
Great tournament though, and the stream actually turned out the be decent for the single’s finals.
Thanks to SB4 for throwing an awesome tournament
Posted on October 18th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
Great tournament. I can see why Wong chose Fei. The fact that Daigo didn’t know the matchup goes to show you how good he really is.
Posted on October 18th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
guess Daigo isn’t that out of practice in hdr like a few people were saying after i played him at evo.
Yeah no reason to disrespect your opponent.
Posted on October 19th, 2009 at 12:19 am
So who won the rematch fight between Justin and Daigo?
Posted on October 19th, 2009 at 2:28 am
daigo won

I suppose that you’re not comfortable playing a fighting game that requires excessive use of that defective device within your cranium. Don’t worry, here’s a Street Fighter game that doesn’t require much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2FR9uIhcgE&feature=related
Posted on October 26th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
People please get over 3rd strike , we all moving on , most people dont wanna go back ! stick with the stuff developers are offering now! look ahead to the future and new things I like 3rd strike alot but come on is old stuff and you quit asking to bring it back cuz thats not gonna happen.
Posted on November 13th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
Damn, reading about how 3rd strike is being left behind is making me squeeze real hard on MvC2. I just started playing and I don’t wanna see it get replaced or forgotten about.
