Neo Empire’s UK Ranking Battles

Our friends over at neoempire.com started running UK SF4 ranking battles recently. If you are a UK Shoryuken.com visitor, it can be difficult to keep in the loop on the going-ons of the tournament scene near you. I suggest, UK resident or not, heading over to Neo Empire to check out the video of the latest ranking battle, and find out to get in on the next one. This is one of the first major console events we have footage of, so the new characters are in the mix. Exciting stuff!
Zak cheats, by the way.
The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match Released

The King of Fighters 2002 rebalance, subtitled “Unlimited Match”, has released in Japan. Buzz from SRK’s local SNK community is very very good. The game is sporting a cast of 66 characters, dwarfing even the mighty Marvel vs Capcom 2 in roster size. Get out there and give it a try!
Mo’ RAM, Less Problems.
The SF4 rush has turned our poor server into a charred, steaming pile. Thankfully help has arrived. We’ve upgraded the server and made some software optimizations that should smooth out the availability of the forums. Happy flaming posting!

Its free and you can win some cool stuff. Winners of round 1 take home a cool headband, round 2 winners get a fightpad. The grand prize winner will be walking away with a fully decked out Street Fighter IV machine!
Good Luck to all competitors today!
The Dogface Show!
This is a project we’ve been trying to get off the ground for a while now. Victor “dogface” Ratliff is one of the coolest people in Street Fighter, but sadly not many people know his name outside of the XSF community. That is going to change.

The Lovely Ladies of SF4
The Beauty Pack DLC for SF4 doesn’t hit the US until next week, but you can check out all the ladies’ alternate costumes and colors in this video. Best SF4 video ever? Oh yeah.
SFIV Party @ Gamestop Universal Citywalk Tomorrow
If you made it to the Street Fighter IV Launch Party, we’ve got another fantastic event for LA-area SFIV fans.
We’ve got a great night planned THIS THURSDAY at one of the BIGGEST Gamestop stores in the country (Universal Citywalk). It’ll be a night of give-aways, free play, cosplay, and hot tournament action.
Seth Killian and I will be on hand to check out the action first hand and to give out the swag for you to add to your collection.
The store will be raffling off gift cards, a Xbox 360, SFIV shirts, and best of all, copies of SFIV signed by producer Ono-san himself. They’ve also got 15 special sweet Ryu headbands signed by Ono!
There will also a chance to take souvenier pix with SFIV models (Chun, Viper, Ken, and Ryu) against a SFIV background, a martial arts demonstration, and LA’s own Eddie Garcia will be there spinning. This is what’s known in layman’s terms as a “party.”
And… tournament, you say? Yes, and one with some pretty sweet prizes, too. We’re talking a free trip for two to the SFIV National Tournament finals in San Francisco, a private screening of Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun Li (for you and 49 friends), GameStop gift cards, and of course the game itself.
There’s also the Street Fighter Cosplay contest, with great prizes detailed after the jump.
Street Fighter 4 Champions Day-One Sales in Japan

Reports are coming in regarding first day sales of Capcom’s Street Fighter 4 in Japan, and the news is not quite what you’d expect. This ‘niche’ title has been leaping off of store shelves, and into the wanting arms of the Japanese consumer at a rate that Capcom didn’t dream of. Over at Capcom-Unity, S-kill is reporting that some of the numbers coming out are a bit off, but that stores are 100% sold out of copies of the game.
What does this mean to you, fighting game fan? It looks like 2d fighting is indeed making a leap back to mainstream status. At least for a while, and at least in Japan, we won’t be a niche. Looking forward to countless updates and sequels, Capcom!
