Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had a pretty successful launch last week. How successful? Well, it seems that Nintendo’s flagship platform fighter has outright “smashed” sales records in the UK.
According to a report by gamesindustry, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fastest-selling Switch game in the country, topping Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee. This also puts it at the top of the sales charts for the week.
In addition to the above, however, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is also the fastest-selling Super Smash Bros. title in the UK. Compared to its predescessors Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, its sales are 302% higher than the former, and 233% higher than the latter. Additionally, it sold 62.5% higher than Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Take note that these numbers are taken purely from physical sales — numbers for digital downloads have not yet been released. As for other countries, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s sales numbers for them have also yet to be released.
