It’s never too late to pick up a quality fighting game.

Shin Hisako Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct may have suffered the most from the push of fighting games on to Sony’s platform; getting left behind when players and venues are focused on the PlayStation 4 instead of the Xbox One did the title no favors in growing a fanbase. It still did so despite this hurdle, now the game is available via Windows 10 or Steam — while it may not have cracked the PlayStation problem, it is certainly available to a much wider audience.

And it is for this reason that novriltataki has put together this mini-guide for newcomers to the game — not only to help new players pick up on Killer Instinct‘s distinct gameplay mechanics, but to also show those that haven’t tried the game what unique and interesting ideas the title has been brewing up while we have been distracted. With a big shout-out to the learning value of the game’s impressive Shadow Lab feature, novriltataki then proceeds to break down the game’s general systems and mechanics.
