At Evo 2018 last weekend, one of the most surprising announcements was that Negan from The Walking Dead would be coming to Tekken 7 as a DLC guest character. Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character from the hit AMC TV series (based on the comic book of the same name) was coming to the game came pretty much out of left field and had more than a few people wondering: why?

One of those is History Behind the Warrior who, in a new video, does their best to figure out why Negan is coming to Tekken 7. As part of this exploration, History Behind the Warrior dives into certain details behind the creation of The Walking Dead TV series, including the people involved. The video below tries its best to chart The Walking Dead TV series’ successful start and its eventual decline (including some high profile cast and crew departures), and how that may lead into this new cross-marketing promotion that AMC is trying with Bandai Namco.

Negan is planned to arrive in Tekken 7 on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One as part of its second season pass.
