Could a New Age of Heroes be about to dawn?

Earlier this week, famed leaker DasVergeben took to both reddit and GameFAQs to speak about some updated information he’s heard from his various sources concerning several different fighting games, some of which could be getting revealed during the Sunday finals of Evo 2018.

First off, he notes that both Castlevania’s Simon Belmont (whom he’s spoken about previously) and Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s Isabelle will be two of the newcomers arriving to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and even goes as far to state that any “leaked lists” that don’t feature the pair should immediately be considered fake. He also claims that there will be a Generation 7 Pokémon amongst the playable roster — but that it will not be Decidueye, Lycanroc, or Mimikyu.

Next, he claims that the rumors of a League Of Legends fighting game developed by Radiant Entertainment are true, noting that he doesn’t know anything specific about gameplay or playable characters, but that he’d, “be really surprised if it doesn’t get revealed at Evo for reasons I can’t say.”

Moving on to SoulCalibur VI, DasVergeben reiterates that Tira, Astaroth, Cervantes, and Grøh’s dad — who could also be his Master — will be in the game, with the “Agent in Black’s” father also serving as a boss character in Story Mode. He also expresses uncertainty about Raphael’s chances of making the cut, claims that Lizardman will make an appearance in some capacity, that Cassandra is in the roster (though he’s unsure if she’s a base fighter or DLC), and that SoulCalibur IV’s Hilde will be one of the DLC characters included in the game’s Season Pass, as the additional warriors are not going to be very story-relevant characters, with the game having a 23-24 character launch cast.

On to Dragon Ball FighterZ, Vergeben claims that he heard from a separate source — different than the supposed Bandai Namco employee who claimed a Season 2 DLC roster of Gogeta, Tapion, Master Roshi, Videl, Raditz, Zarbon, and Cabba & Kale — that four of the eight Season 2 Z-Warriors will actually be Ultra Instinct Goku, Jiren the Gray, Super Saiyan 4 Goku — who would mark the first Dragon Ball GT representation — and Gogeta, who could possibly be making his canonical debut in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Broly film based off of merchandise.

Finally, possibly the most interesting part of this leak is Vergeben’s claim that a new update for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is seemingly in the works, and could be announced on Sunday at Evo, stating the following.

Information is scarce. Nobody knows anything other than it’s apparently happening and may be offered as an upgrade like how Capcom did for Street Fighter V with Arcade Edition. I only had one source mention it might be an “Ultra” styled update instead, which means it could be offered like how Ultra Street Fighter IV was a purchased update, standalone, or retail release. No one knows what’s being added, changed, or characters added other than the obvious suspicion that they in the very least finished up the characters that were being worked on for Season 2 which included Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Asura, Lady, Gill, and Rashid. Though I heard back in January that there was push for including Vergil, specifically in place of Rashid possibly. So there is that all to consider from back then.

Whatever is happening with it this time around seems to be more secretive than ever. As I said before, I don’t know if this will be revealed at Evo or not. Only that it seems to be happening since so many people have heard and are hearing about it. I’ve sat on this information since after SDCC. What’s funny is how I and others took the game’s future as being dead by nothing being said there. Then within a few days after, all this talk of an update actually happening came pouring out my way.”

We’ll see what happens. Especially at Evo if it’s done there. But it’s become impossible for me to ignore.

He ends everything by saying we should be hyped for today’s announcements, as there are even more planned than last year.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see a new version of MvC:I or some of these rumored roster additions come to pass? Let us know in the comments, and keep in mind these are all unconfirmed rumors, so take them with a truckload of salt!
