Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta for Nintendo Switch dates and roster revealed

For any players on Switch chomping at the bit to get a taste of Dragon Ball FighterZ, here’s some great news. Bandai Namco has just dropped some important details regarding the game’s open beta.

The open beta client for Dragon Ball FighterZ on Switch will be available for pre-download from the eShop today, August 3rd. The open beta period itself will take place in North America from 9:00 PM PT on August 9 to midnight (11:59 PM) PT on August 12.

In addition to this, they’ve also revealed the characters that will be playable in said open beta. These are as follows:

  • Goku (Super Saiyan)
  • Vegeta (Super Saiyan)
  • Gohan (Teen)
  • Gohan (Adult)
  • Gotenks
  • Trunks
  • Frieza
  • Cell
  • Majin Buu
  • Kid Buu
  • Krillin
  • Piccolo
  • Tien
  • Nappa
  • Android 16
  • Android 18
  • Yamcha
  • Ginyu
  • Hit
  • Goku (SSGSS)
  • Vegeta (SSGSS)
  • Beerus
  • Goku Black

The beta will allow players to fight 1-on-1 in Arena Matches, or enter into a lobby in Ring Match. The latter also allows for the Ring Party Match where up to 6 players can participate in a single battle. Aside from this, the beta will also include the Practice Battle Tutorial, let players watch replays, and will have the Extreme Type simplified control scheme available for players to use.

The retail release of Dragon Ball FighterZ for Switch arrives on September 28, 2018.
