Improvements incoming!

Capcom promised us “improvements” to the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection — and today, they have revealed both when we’ll be seeing a patch and what it will address (at least on every platform but the Switch).

PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam users can expect an update tomorrow, June 28, around 10:00 AM PT. A patch is still on the way for the Switch version as well, but is taking longer to prepare and still doesn’t have a set launch date.

So, what’s in the patch? There were a number of things fans wanted fixes for, and it looks like at least some will be fixed up. Here’s the list from Capcom-Unity:

PlayStation 4:

  • A matchmaking filter has been added. Users will now be able to select the minimum connection strength for opponents to match up with online
  • Lobby issues have been improved
  • Akuma is no longer playable in Ranked Mode for Super Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Street Fighter III: New Generation and Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact – Giant Attack now output sound in stereo
  • Various localization improvements

Xbox One:

  • Akuma is no longer playable in Ranked Mode for Super Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Street Fighter III: New Generation and Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact – Giant Attack now output sound in stereo
  • Various localization improvements
  • Note: The Xbox One version of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection currently uses Microsoft’s system for optimizing matchmaking for users with strong signals. Therefore, a matchmaking filter was not implemented

Steam:

  • A matchmaking filter has been added. Users will now be able to select the minimum connection strength for opponents to match up with online
  • A fix for direct input controllers where some users were unable to use diagonal movements
  • Akuma is no longer playable in Ranked Mode for Super Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Street Fighter III: New Generation and Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact – Giant Attack now output sound in stereo
  • A matchmaking filter has been added. Users will now be able to select the minimum connection strength for opponents to match up with online

I’m not sure what “various localization improvements” means, but overall this looks to cover most of the complaints so far — outside of adding additional versions/upgrades of the games (which some players are still hoping for). Look for the update tomorrow morning!
