Here’s a peek at what HORI is preparing for the future!
We don’t know anything about it yet, except it looks intriguing… HORI has a new in-development fight stick on display at E3 2018, and it looks like they’re finally jumping on board with the easy-access open-at-will panel design used by the Mad Catz TE2, the Qanba Dragon, and the Razer Atrox/Panthera. Have a look at these pictures, snapped by Mark “MarkMan” Julio:
What we can see so far is that the layout is the NOIR style that HORI has been using on many of its recent fight sticks; the balltop, pushbuttons, and panel art are all new designs/colors, presuming any of that is close to retail final. The unlabeled top-panel upper controls look like they’ll offer similar functions to prior sticks — and we can see a touch pad in that area, so clearly this is a PlayStation 4 design. This stick case opens in a more unusual panel-forward motion, as opposed to all of its competitors. Also notable in the images is what looks like a SoulCalibur VI-branded RAP.N (on the shelf below), and some kind of GameCube-type controller (behind), obviously intended for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Arcade Shock also grabbed some images on the scene that show a closer look at the panel joint and the inside bed of the case:
We’ll provide more details on these controllers as we hear them!
