One of the most anticipated reveals at this year’s E3 is Nintendo’s new Super Smash Bros. title for the Switch. We knew we’d see it in action via the Invitational event to be held there –but until now, we didn’t have confirmation that it would be playable on the show floor. But the game will be indeed be available for attendees to try — if you sign up in advance!

To make sure that fans get a chance to play the game — while keeping lines manageable — Nintendo has announced that they will be implementing a ticket reservation system for the new Super Smash Bros. game at E3. With the system, not only will fans be able to reserve a slot to play the game, they’ll also be able to choose between playing casually “for fun”, or joining a competitive elimination match “for glory”.

To reserve a ticket, attendees must register for E3 on or before May 31, 2018. Those who do so will receive an email from the E3 organizers (via the email address on June 5 with details on how to avail of said ticket. The tickets themselves will be in the form of QR codes that can either be printed out or stored on the player’s smartphone.

Sign ups to play the game prior to the event are mandatory — there will be no on site registration whatsoever. Additionally, the tickets are valid only for Super Smash Bros. for Switch. Other games at Nintendo’s booth will be available for play on a first-come, first-served basis.
