Until we meet again — here’s some cool stuff!

While there may be some contention out there for what day today is exactly, Bandai Namco is giving away in-game items for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball FighterZ in honor of Goku day, a nationally recognized holiday in Japan.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 players will receive double XP throughout the duration of the event alongside Goku’s Jacket and 59 TP medals once the event is over. Combined with the 40 Ton Weights Super Soul, which doubles the amount of XP gained, this is the perfect opportunity to level up your custom characters.

Dragon Ball FighterZ‘s reward is a bit smaller, but still neat. Simply logging into the game grants the “Timeless Legend” title for your Player Card. While certainly cool, perhaps a special lobby avatar or character color for Goku would have been more exciting. That being said, a gift is a gift, and that’s nice enough in itself.

You may be wondering why May 9, also known as Piccolo day, was chosen for Goku day. The reasoning is actually quite straightforward. In Japanese, Go means 5 and Ku means 9. Go figure! Act fast, because these gifts are more than likely only available today.

Oh yeah, and I guess its also Krillin day too, so don’t forget about him!
