Cross Fate with these new screenshots and gameplay clips of the reported final build!
Now that May has begun, we’re less than a month away from the Japanese release of Arc System Works’ four-way crossover BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. As such, many gaming media outlets in the Land of the Rising Sun got some hands-on time with what is reportedly the final build of the game, providing us with a massive collection of screenshots from a variety of game modes, as well as a few quick matches.
Most notably, we can see that the game’s 20 DLC characters — such as Under Night In-Birth’s Carmine Prime (who will be included in Cross Character Pack 2), Persona 4 Arena’s Naoto Shirogane (part of Cross Character Pack 3) and RWBY’s Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long — will have roles to play in the game’s Episode Mode, appearing in various chapters of each of the four atory arcs, though it remains to be seen if they can be fought-against or played-as during the narrative.
We also get a look at the game’s menus, which can be accessed from a Lobby setting that is extremely reminiscent of Dragon Ball FighterZ, as well as the ChibiKaka Shop, where players will be able to purchase items like Lobby Avatars with in-game currency, complete with a Customize menu.
In one screenshot, Linne performs what appears to be her Infinite Worth EXS, Kannagi – Homura Issen, seeming to confirm that these attacks will be repurposed as Astral Skills for the UNIB cast. We also see a glimpse at a pair of new stages: the Forbidden Gate from Central Fiction, and what appears to be an updated version of the Sealed Space from Chronophantasma.
Finally, gamernejp has uploaded some new gameplay clips, featuring a full match with Hyde Kido and Chie Satonaka battling Ruby Rose and Es, as well quick combos from Nu-13, Yu Narukami, and Ragna The Bloodge punishing an incoming Ruby after Weiss Schnee attempts a Crash Assault in Tactics Mode. You can view everything below.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will be released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam in Japan on Thrusday, May 31st, with a North American release following on the same platforms on June 5th.
