BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Cross Character Pack 3 to be revealed on Thursday, April 19th

Following the reveal of Aegis, Carmine and Jubei in Cross Character Pack 2 a few weeks ago, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle‘s official website updated yesterday, revealing that the next trio of DLC characters will be revealed three weeks from today: on Thursday, April 19th, on the next monthly Arc Nama stream. This will bring the number of revealed DLC characters up to 11, leaving nine more to be announced.

One interesting fact looms over the reveals, though — as a series of dedicated posters on reddit and GameFAQs have seemingly deciphered the identities of the DLC characters’ silhouettes seen at the end of the 2017 ASW Fighting Game Awards trailer. Though these silhouettes haven’t been seen again in reveal trailers since, many believe them to be clipped together images of old sprites from BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, and Under Night In-Birth.

Though this is certainly just fan speculation, they seem to fit together like the pieces of a puzzle, with none of the choices seeming too out of place, since they would keep with the theme of the logos used in promotion. This would mean ASW is sticking purely to 10 characters from the original Persona 4 Arena, bringing in more of the Central Fiction newcomers for BlazBlue, as well as one of the four new challengers from Under Night In-Birth: EXE Late[st], so it’s worth keeping in mind once the announcement is upon us. If the guesses are fully accurate, our remaining DLC characters would be as follows:

  • Hakumen
  • Izayoi
  • Nine The Phantom
  • Mai Natsume

Persona 4 Arena:

  • Naoto Shirogane
  • Mitsuru Kirijo
  • Akihiko Sanada
  • Labrys

Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[st]:

  • Yuzuriha
  • Vatista
  • Merkava
  • Mika Returna

You can see a picture of the characters believed to be the identities of the silhouettes below, with the trailer text removed to provide a cleaner and clearer image, below.

As usual, you can catch the full stream at 4:00 AM PT (5:00 AM MT and 7:00 AM ET) at There will also be an additional reveal on Wednesday, April 11th — likely of the contents of the title’s “Limited Box,” which will feature a download code for the “All-In-One” pack, as well as an art book, a special illustration of the four series’ protagonists done by their respective main artists, and other physical goodies — at The next #BBmyTAG combo video will also be released on Friday, March 30th.
