When MenaRD won Capcom Cup, he said he wanted to do something to promote the game in his native Dominican Republic. He was not at all talking idly, and his most recent move has made good on that desire.

Using some of his Capcom Cup funds as capital, he has started his own esports team: the Santo Domingo Tigers. The first player he has signed is Dominican native Jochy Focus. Jochy made waves with his Akuma play in the Capcom Cup Last Chance Qualifier, showing that the Dominican Republic was stronger far beyond DR Ray, Caba, and MenaRD.
