Once labelled the “perfectly balanced” Vs. title by its developers, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is about to get a shot in the arm, with the discovery of Baroque Unblockables. While characters like Yatterman-2 and PTX-40A have unblockable moves programmed into the game, these Baroque Unblockables allow for never-before-seen combo extensions and potential one-touch kills.

So how do you use a Baroque Unblockable? Based on Truegamer2000’s research, it involves entering Baroque Mode just as a character leaves hitstun and landing a jab straight after the Baroque Mode flash ends. Video creator Truegamer2000 doesn’t offer an explanation as to why the jab becomes unblockable — he just shows the applications of this new tech in various combos. All characters — besides the Giants — are capable of utilizing Baroque Unblockables, giving players a reason not use the massive fighters in tournament.

The combos Truegamer2000 shows off are proof of concepts more than anything, meaning there is plenty of room for experimentation for those still playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. With Frosty Faustings X coming up at the end of this month and TvC having a significant presence at the event, expect some hot new tech in action as players trying to integrate Baroque Unblockables into their gameplan.
