With the game being a crossover, Toaru Majutsu no VIRTUAL-ON brings with it a new character element that wasn’t present in previous VIRTUAL-ON titles. Here, the series virtuaroids are now paired up with characters from Dengeki’s Toaru Majutsu no Index franchise.
To help players get familiar which the characters and the virtuaroids they’ll be piloting, Sega has released a new trailer for Toaru Majutsu no VIRTUAL-ON. The trailer below showcases the these characters and their virtuaroids — and also includes a look at some of their Boost Weapon abilities.
It also shows the new “Smart” style that automatically locks the camera onto opponents. Series veterans, however, can use the aptly-named “Veteran” style that leaves the camera manually-controlled like in previous games.
Other things shown in the trailer include the various modes and missions such as boss battles, Arcade Battle, Kill Attack, Arcade Battle, Network mode, and the unique Explosion Code, which turns the game into a sort of mechanized game of rugby. Finally, the trailer also confirms cross-save support between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions.
Toaru Majutsu no VIRTUAL-ON hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita — in Japan — on February 15.
