Before Noctis heads off to beat up Geese, Akuma and Heihachi in Tekken 7, he’s got some business to take care of in the world of Final Fantasy. Releasing first on console before he comes to arcades, Noctis makes his fighting game debut in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT this coming January. As part of the second anniversary celebration for Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade, a new Noctis trailer was released, detailing the Crown Prince’s abilities.
While the Engine Blade is his primary weapon, Noctis has access to the Royal Arms in battle, legendary weapons which only those of royal blood can wield. He can switch between these weapons mid-combo, and even teleport to thrown weapons to continue an attack. Noctis also has access to some magic spells, allowing him to fight both up close and at range.
This stream also revealed the Flower Fields from Final Fantasy VIII will appear as a stage, and that the level cap for Final Fantasy Dissidia has been raised to 25 — adding more weapons and costumes for each character. For those wanting to see all the alternate costume colors for each character (including Noctis), cometdance has created a gallery of all the colors shown on stream.
You can watch the entire second anniversary stream below, with the Noctis breakdown starting at 4:49:41.
