Dante mains can breathe a sigh of relief, as Capcom has announced today that the Battle for the Stones finals will not use the incoming December 5th patch of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. While it could have been the ultimate test of whether players can adapt to new situations with little preparation time, Capcom wants the players to compete on “the version they’ve had the most time with.”
Recently, we revealed balance patch notes for the 12/5 #MVCI update. We want Battle for the Stones players to compete on the version they've had the most playtime with. Therefore, BftS Finals will use the existing version of MVCI with the current roster. https://t.co/rG30kBxDnu pic.twitter.com/5QxDGB3cWU

So Dante and the Reality Stone get one last hurrah before they are nerfed into the dirt by the new patch. However, I think Capcom should now change one of the circuit’s Stone effects to force players to switch to the patched version of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite for just one game…
The final set of 2017 DLC characters and the “Dante Must Die” balance patch both launch on December 5th, so qualified players should take their consoles offline, to avoid accidentally updating their games!
