Yesterday,  ELEAGUE announced its latest ruling for the upcoming Injustice 2 World Championships. Despite protecting Earthrealm for centuries, this will be one event that the god of thunder Raiden will be unable to participate in.

Releasing earlier this week as part of Fighter Pack 2 and in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Mortal Kombat, Raiden will officially be banned from the entirety of ELEAGUE, including the event’s Last Chance Qualifiers. This is common practice regarding the usage of new DLC characters in competitive circuits, as players may have not had adequate time to prepare for the match-up and game-breaking bugs may still exist for newer characters.

The ELEAGUE Injustice 2 World Championship will begin on October 21st, with a Last Chance Qualifier event to determine the last two members of the bracket of the 16 best players of the game today, as they battle for supremacy in Group Play later this month. You can find full details on the LCQ here.
