An early peek at this clash of hoof and horn.
IndieGoGo backers of Mane6’s in-development game Them’s Fightin’ Herds have enjoyed access to a beta version of the unusual indie fighting title. To give the rest of us a look at the gameplay in its current state, eastyy uploaded some footage of the game in action to YouTube:
If you think the character design has a very Ponyish vibe, that’s no coincidence: the game is set in an original universe designed by Lauren Faust, producer and developer for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Under the cute cartoony look there seems to be a potentially solid fighting game engine, featuring a four-button input layout, an in-depth combo system, GGPO-powered netplay, and mechanics such as “Juggle Decay” to curb endless juggling.
eastyy followed up with a video detailing their impressions of the game and its engine/mechanics, as well as discussing a bit of the game’s history:
While the title has certainly missed its previously-projected “Q1 2017” release window, you can read more about it on its Steam Greenlight page.
