Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from September 15 to September 21, 2017!
Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:
Depending on execution, a Street Fighter novel could prove to be a great success or a tacky flop — or a combination of the two. I’m looking forward to seeing how it actually turns out.
The biggest surprise about the reveal of Noctis in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is how long it took for Square-Enix to actually confirm their current FF poster boy was coming to the game.
Being in a near-constant state of character crisis between characters I’m familiar with, and higher-tier characters or new ones I want to learn, I relate to the simultaneous difficulty and appeal of character specialization!
With this announcement — plus prior confirmation of Black Panther and Sigma — we’ve got our first six DLC fighters for MvC:I. Too bad SFIII’s Gill didn’t actually make the cut though, as per rumor.
Out with the old, in with the new — but never forget the hype.
A slip, proving an upgrade to SFV is imminent? Or just an outright mistake? We may never know — at least not until Capcom announces something officially.
Sam “Trilby” Foxall, Assistant Editor:
So long Trunks, I’ve got a new main. Alongside brand new character Android 21, OG Dragon Ball characters Tien and Yamcha are coming to DBFZ. I can’t wait for the Spirit Ball setups.
Ayeeemamalay! The God of Thunder Raiden is coming to Injustice 2 next month, and he’s ready to zap some fools. Along with a Black Lightning Premier skin, Raiden now holds the title for the coolest super in Injustice 2.
Pack your whetstones and Mega-Potions, as Capcom have finally revealed footage of the Monster Hunter in MvC:I. Fighting with a bow, greatsword and dual swords, this Hunter is coming to fight with quite the arsenal.
This invitational-slash-open tournament series should prove to be an exciting first run for Capcom’s new Versus title.
