Prepare for time compression as Ultimecia joins the cast of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Square Enix and Team NINJA have finally revealed the next character to join the cast of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. The time compression-obsessed sorceress Ultimecia from Final Fantasy VIII now enters the fray with a new trailer.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Ultimecia has been playable in Dissidia game — she was one of the villains fighting on the side of Chaos in the original Dissidia Final Fantasy on the PlayStation Portable, as well as its sequel, Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy. That said, she’s never looked as good as she does here, as the modern hardware makes her already devastating spells and attacks look even more impressive.

Ultimecia will be playable in the game’s arcade version, simply called Dissidia Final Fantasy, in its upcoming September update. Meanwhile, console players will have to wait until January 30, 2018 to play her — and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT in general — on PlayStation 4.
