Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from August 11 to August 17, 2017!

Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:

Frame 1:
Shoryuken interview: BrolyLegs talks about Evo, training, and AbleGamers

Brolylegs’ skill and competitive drive are inspiring to all fighting game players, regardless of whatever physical limitations they may or may not have. I’m a fan particularly because of his Chun-Li character specialization!

Frame 2:

Shoryuken review: Nidhogg II is a bizarre, hilarious, and fun indie fighter

The sequel I didn’t know I was waiting for turned out to fully deliver on challenge and fun — and I can even get behind the somewhat divisive new art style.

Frame 3:
Shoryuken interview: LI Joe talks East Coast Throwdown, Evo 2016, and ELEAGUE

LI Joe’s dedication to the FGC is enough to get anyone fired up and ready to get more involved in their local community. The fight is only part of the whole picture.

Frame 1:
For Honor NobushiFor Honor player wins a $10,000 tournament using an infamous in-game exploit

Take heed of Ubisoft’s mistake, fellow fighting game developers. A recent For Honor tournament was won by a player ruthlessly using an infamous glitch which had not been banned or patched out ahead of the event. There is no honor when money’s on the line.

Frame 2:
Injustice 2 Pack ShotNew Injustice 2 characters to be announced alongside Steve Aoki & Don Diablo charity match at Gamescom 2017

Gamescom’s going to be a jam-packed event for fighting game fans, as NetherRealm Studios are planning to reveal the characters coming in Fighter Pack 2 during a special charity match between Steve Aoki and Don Diablo. Fingers crossed for Spawn!

Frame 3:
Super Saiyan Blue Goku DBFZSSB Goku, SSB Vegeta, Android 18, and Android 16 are coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ

In an info blowout from the latest issues of V-Jump and Weekly Jump magazine, it has been revealed that Androids 16 and 18 are coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ, along with Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta. We even got news on DBFZ’s “what if” style Story Mode.

Keegan “Interrobang!?” Spindler, Features Editor:

Frame 1:
Verloren Tampa BisonShoryuken interview: Verloren talks Evo 2017 and his meteoric rise

Verloren has exploded out of nowhere to fantastic results, and we here at SRK love rooting for surprise winners. Missing Person caught up with the man himself to pick his brain.

Frame 2:
Super Smash Con 2016Here’s everything you missed from Super Smash Con 2017

Super Smash Con has grown into a cornerstone of the Smash calendar, and is quickly threatening to become the biggest all around Smash event of the year. Smash Masters is a special favorite, and well worth a watch, even if you’re not interested in all the other great events, which Trilby has round up for us.

Frame 3:
HORI RAP N top panel cropShoryuken review: HORI Real Arcade Pro.N Hayabusa arcade stick for PlayStation 3 & 4

Talk about a looker! This is one of the most attractive sticks I’ve ever seen, and EiC Mushin_z waxes lyrical about the pros and cons in his excellent review.

Extra Frame:
SFV Karin 30th costume crop
Capcom reveals Street Fighter V “30th Anniversary” premium outfits for Karin, Ibuki, Guile, and M. Bison

Capcom continues the SFV tradition of adding new outfits rather than addressing any of the requested changes the FGC is clamoring for… at least they’re pretty cool outfits. But surely more cast members than these four warrant 30th anniversary treatment? Editor-in-Chief. Street Fighterin' since there was only a "II" in the title.
