Morrigan just can’t stop with this non-TAC infinite combo in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

While Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3‘s Morrigan is known to be very strong due to her soul-crushing fireball trap game, she actually has so much more potential than this. In the hands of a dedicated player, she also has some impressive combos. One such combo is this corner infinite demonstrated by Rokmode.

The combo below is actually a variation of her older corner Shell Kick infinite combo. Like the old combos, this one uses utilizes the fact that┬áher medium Shadow Blade isn’t affected by hitstun deterioration, canceling the first 2 hits into flight mode to let her land her Shell Kick. The difference here is that this variation can be confirmed from the air — previous versions needed to be done from the ground.

While this does make the infinite easier to set up, the combo itself is still pretty hard to do consistently. At such a late stage in the game’s development life, it’s hard to see if this will ever become a staple in Morrigan’s arsenal. At the very least, players can breathe easy that Morrigan players never further developed this earlier in the game’s life. As noted player Daniel “PZPoy” Benitez stated on Reddit “I’m so glad Morrigan players were too lazy to learn this the last 5 years.”
