One of the things that many fans look forward to at Evo every year are the many panels that fighting game developers and publishers hold at the event. However, for those looking forward to these, we’ve got a bit of bad news. Both the Street Fighter V and King of Fighters XIV panels at Evo 2017 have been cancelled.

Capcom’s official Street Fighter twitter account announced that they had to unfortunately cancel their panel. Meanwhile, earlier this week, SNK and Atlus’s King of Fighters XIV panel was quietly cancelled. Players only noticed when the listing for the panel on the schedule was removed from the official Evo schedule. In response to this, Evo head Joey “Mr Wizard” Cuellar replied that it was SNK who cancelled the panel.

However, just because the panels were cancelled doesn’t mean both companies don’t have plans at Evo. Capcom has confirmed that, despite the cancellation, they still have a number of announcements that they plan to make at Evo. In addition to this, producer Yoshinori Ono will be at their booth on both Friday, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and Saturday, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.

Meanwhile, King of Fighters Producer Yasuyuki Oda and battle designer Hayato Watanabe will instead be making appearances at Arc System Works’ booth on Friday, July 14, at 4:00 PM PST.
