While Pokkén Tournament may have narrowly missed out on the coveted Player’s Choice spot for Evo 2017, the Pokémon fighting game will still be a fixture at this year’s Evo. By visiting the special Pokkén Tournament DX booth, players can play an early build of the game and sign up to the new “Pokkén Tournament DX Academy”.

As reported by Nintendo Versus:

“This year, Nintendo is attending the event with a booth space featuring playable kiosks for the Pokkén Tournament DX fighting game.

During Evo, Nintendo will be playfully “recruiting” people to join the virtual Pokkén Tournament DX Academy, which provides a direct line of communication between Nintendo and the Pokkén Tournament DX players.

By signing up for the Academy, members will receive exclusive tips and tricks directly from Nintendo and the game’s development team, as well as invitations to a special Nintendo event at PAX West in Seattle.

Fans and pro players who sign up will be entered into an on-site drawing for the chance to win a Nintendo Switch system and the Pokkén Tournament DX game when it launches on Sept. 22.”

In addition to learning how Pokkén is really played, Evo attendees can possibly win themselves a Nintendo Switch and a copy of Pokkén Tournament DX. With the Switch selling out everywhere, this is a good a chance as any to get your hands on the coveted system.
