It has been announced that Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition, an update to the Street Fighter IV iOS game released back in 2010, will be coming to the iOS App Store this summer. The update includes graphic improvements, updated support for larger mobile devices, and adds Dudley, Ibuki, and Poison to the game’s list of playable fighters.
The original Street Fighter IV mobile game had a four-button layout, and had all of the basic functions of a Street Fighter game. There was also an option to play with other owners of the portable title via Wi-Fi. There is no indication of the motive behind this sudden update to an iOS title that has seemingly had no attention in recent years, but the reaction from the mobile game market could provide some insight as we near its release.
A specific release date has not been provided for Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition, but if you are interested, there is a registration list where you can sign up to be notified when the game is available.
