ELEAGUE’s first Street Fighter V champion has been decided!

The top eight have clashed, and Panda Global’s Punk ultimately came out on top after defeating BX3|Phenom in the Grand Finals.

This particular Grand Finals format–a single first-to-seven set with the Winners bracket carrying in an extra point, as imported from FPS-based esports events–seems to be controversial within the FGC, as under a typical double-elimination system, a bracket reset would have been involved tonight. Regardless of this format’s popularity (or lack thereof), Punk is now the first ELEAGUE Street Fighter V Invitational champion! Tonight, the survivors of Groups A-D will battle in the ELEAGUE Street Fighter V Invitational playoffs, bringing this event to its conclusion! The following fighters are set to compete in tonight’s top 8 at G FUEL ELEAGUE ARENA in Atlanta, Georgia:
