Watch out: An Injustice 2 bug can cause players to (temporarily) lose their character’s progress

One of the unique new features added to Injustice 2 is a character progression system, based on gear that players can earn. While not relevant to competitive play, it’s a nice system to encourage more casual players to stick to the game. But sadly, it seems that a glitch has been found that can interfere with the hard work that a player has put into their gear.

The glitch seems to occur when players either quit or get disconnected from the game’s servers. Upon logging back on, players find that their characters have lost a number of levels, but are still wearing their current gear–that they’re now under-leveled for. The catch of course is that players cannot swap gear, as they will not be able to put their old gear back on.

Warner Bros. Games is currently aware of the issue, and are apparently working on a fix. In the meantime, Kotaku has confirmed that the workaround for this is to clear the console’s local cache, by powering down the console and waiting 20 to 30 seconds before powering it back on. This should correct the problem and restore your progress.
