Ronin Esports has just announced the release of their lone fighting game player, Alex Myers.
Today we announce the release of Alex Myers from Ronin.
We wish him the best of luck in the future! pic.twitter.com/WMjZAQzwBT

The decision comes hot off the heels of the Cammy pro’s top 5 finish at DreamHack Austin in Street Fighter V. Considering his recent upswing and improvement, it’s a surprising departure. It certainly can’t be performance related: Ronin is still impressed enough to have Alex’s face dress the front page of Ronin HQ at the time of this writing.
Despite this, the release appears to be amicable. From Alex himself:
Although my time with Ronin has come to an end, I want to thank them for the opportunities they've given me this year. I wish you the best.? https://t.co/4zDca23eNA

There is no official reason provided for Myers release, or word yet of how this impacts his future as a traveling professional.
