Nev explains the power of Ryu’s jab Shoryuken on offense and defense in Street Fighter V

Andrew “Nev” Murphy has created two quick analysis videos that show off the value of using more jab Shoryukens with Ryu, both offensively and defensively.

The first video covers the jab Shoryuken’s ability to trade or blow up strings with 2 frame gaps. While Ryu is the main focus, Nev also goes on to show some other possibilities with Necalli and Akuma.

For offense, though, it’s all about Ryu. Nev shows off some nice meaty timings post-jab Shoryuken that blow up most reversal options. He makes a strong argument for trading the damage from a Tatsu ender for the pressure gained from jab Shoryuken.
