Alex Valle is the perennial North American legend of fighting games. With all the things that fighting game players have done–traveling to Japan, or facing off against the world’s best while emerging victorious–Valle has done all of that, and more.

While still a competitor, Valle is mostly on the production and organizational side of the events now. When he sat down with IGN to talk about Wednesday Night Fights–and his motivation for starting Level Up–he also talked about his desire to see the newer players rise up to beat the best, and his feelings of putting that before his own competitive aspirations.
