One of my absolute favorite things about indie fighting game developers is their frequent want (and need) to be transparent. This is certainly been the case for Sector K Games and their slick sci-fi fighter Punch Planet.

Getting to see early gameplay like this quickly reveals how much the people behind the scenes really care about the genre they’re working in. The reset and cancel heavy matches clearly illustrate that the type of pressure heavy game Sector K is hoping to make, is also the type of game they want to play. Given their successful Steam Greenlight bid, it seems others want to play it, too. Lee Wolland’s simple, stylized models and limited color palette may be a deal breaker for some, but it’s likely a means to a end for a small team’s ambitious project. If nothing else, it compliments the synthwave drenched atmosphere the team is developing.

So, if you like your space stations neon lit and your fighting games button heavy, Punch Planet might be a place you want to visit.

Hey, I'm just a 3D-head in a 2D-world. I like pretty much all FGC stuff, and I really like hearing about the way people think about games.
