2017 kicked off with news that longtime Evil Geniuses members Justin Wong, Momochi, and ChocoBlanka were all leaving their team–and it turned out they all ended up here, along with even more big FGC talent! Echo Fox has really scooped up a potent fighting game roster.

For the Love of the Game: A Report on Cosplay in the FGC

Cosplayers are becoming an increasing fixture at FGC events, and I love seeing them there. Few expressions of fandom are so direct and sincere. Missing Person takes a few words to offer a glimpse into this subculture of a subculture.

No stranger to funding pot bonuses with DLC, Iron Galaxy is devoting 50% of each sale of Kilgore to fund the KI Ultra Tour. With this fundraiser having no cap, we could see some record breaking pots for Killer Instinct in the future. Fight on!

dissidia_warrior_of_light_vs_cloud New Character for Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade to be Announced on January 10

Seeing as Final Fantasy XV is the game of the moment, I would not be surprised if this new character is protagonist Noctis. With FF’s 30th anniversary being at the end of the month as well, we could see a console release date very soon.

Make it three FGC cameos on Elementary, as DJ Nintendo is also set to feature in this gaming themed episode of CBS’s adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. Will it be death by Yoga Flame, Dancing Blade or Shine? We’ll see on February 19th.

This feature starts off the new year with a bang! It’s a cracker, which has a look at what the FGC can learn from Poker–a sport we have a lot more in common with than you might think.

I’m no pad soldier, but with so many choosing to use their pad as fighting game controller of choice, there’s no doubt a growing market for premium pads. Is the Raiju the right choice for you? Well, our very own Trilby has the scoop.
