“Super Street Fighter Carnival 2016” is in its home stretch! SSFC2016 is the currently ongoing Japanese tournament series at Mikado Arcade for a wide variety of classic and bizarre arcade titles. If you missed the first few tournaments from SSFC2016, there’s a lot to catch up on!

Fighting Layer will feel familiar to fans of the Street Fighter EX series. This Namco fighter was developed by none other then Akira, just a year after their last SFEX effort. Though the game never saw release outside of arcades, it lives on at Mikado.

Not many games at SSFC2016 get thrown at it’s competitors twice. It seems like a particularly cruel joke to chose Chaos Generation, a bootleg SFIV from China, among what has run this season. Perhaps that was the point! Or, perhaps, they are wanting to raise the profile for this strange, strange game. Who knows?

Samurai Spirits (Samurai Shodown in the states!) has certainly been no stranger to the SSFC2016 roster. It really only makes sense that the first game in the franchise would show up on the schedule!

We are in the final month of SSFC2016!

You can follow the action by subscribing to Mikado’s official YouTube channel. You can even try to catch them when they livestream!

Hey, I'm just a 3D-head in a 2D-world. I like pretty much all FGC stuff, and I really like hearing about the way people think about games.
