One of the more unique things that Team NINJA has done with Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is create a free-to-play “Core Fighters” version of the game, for those who might not be willing to jump in at full price. Core Fighters is currently available on PlayStation 4 and XBox One, however it’s surprisingly missing from the one platform where it may benefit the most from being free-to-play: the PC.

Now it seems that the PC may finally be getting the free-to-play version Team NINJA’s flagship fighter via Steam. The entry for Dead Or Alive 5 Last Round on SteamDB has seen changes that list new DLC such as default characters and story mode that are specifically for the free-to-play Core Fighters version.

While this isn’t confirmation that the Core Fighters version of DOA5 Last Round is coming to Steam, SteamDB entries for games are usually proven correct, as these are mined direct from Valve’s database. With any luck, we’ll hear more on this from Team NINJA sometime soon.
