When expecting a command grab in Street Fighter V, a simple neutral jump escape can allow for a falling aerial normal to connect–thanks to the long recovery time tied to command grabs–leading into massive damage. This makes occasional neutral jumps against grapplers an integral part of the matchup. When the same scenario plays out against a normal throw, however, the party taking to the air to save their skin won’t be rewarded with a full punish for their successful escape, and, as Bafael shows in a recent video, those players may actually wind up taking a bit of damage anyway.
