If a brand new Street Fighter V character wasn’t enough to excite you, Karin’s reveal came bundled with an announcement for the Capcom Fighters Network, a set of community-building tools included in the upcoming title’s online infrastructure.
Apart from obvious features like replay saving and match invitations, Capcom Fighters Network will provide players with tournament results, an extensive “heat map” that highlights battles happening all across the world, and minute details about their gameplay.
“As Street Fighter V will be at the forefront of our eSports activities upon release, we wanted to make sure that players had access to all the statistical data possible to help analyze their weaknesses and improve their game,” associate producer Peter “Combofiend” Rosas explains. To do this, Street Fighter V will track intricate stats like how many light punches you landed in a game, your throw tech success, the various ways in which you’ve won matches, and more. “We are confident that players will appreciate this new knowledge and use it to push themselves to the next level and rise above the competition.”
Though still in development, Capcom Fighters Network is already looking to be an incredible feature in Street Fighter V. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
