Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX Arrives on PlayStation Network

While folks in the community like to label games such as Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and Persona as “anime,” tonight a new brand of fighting game becomes available worldwide: the light novel fighter!

Sega’s Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX gathers characters from a variety of light novels published under the Dengeki Bunko imprint, which means players will be able to get their hands on folks like Asuna and Kirito from Sword Art Online, Oreimo’s cosplaying protagonist Kirino Kosaka, the intense Shizuo Heiwajima of Durarara!!, Ro-Kyu-Bu!’s Tomoka Minato, and many more.

Developed by French-Bread and Ecole Software of Melty Blood fame, FIGHTING CLIMAX certainly carries a ton of potential, but it also has quite a hill to climb to stay relevant with the upcoming release of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-.

Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX is currently available through the Japanese PlayStation Network for ¥7538 (~$65 USD).
