Back in June, SNK Playmore released The Rhythm of Fighters–an unlikely mobile title that merges rhythm games with classic King of Fighters action sequences–on both iOS and Android. Originally, the app cost $0.99 and additional song packs ran for $2.99 each, but a new development over the weekend has changed things up a bit: Android users will now find that the game has become free-to-play.

Those who purchased the app before it updated will be allowed access to a special pack of five classic NEOGEO tracks, while the original song bundles will remain at their $2.99 price point. In case this is the first you’re hearing of the app, we’ve included the initial release trailer below so you can check it out.

No word has yet to be released as to whether or not the iOS version of The Rhythm of Fighters will see a similar change.
