Ever since Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- launched early this year, fighting game fans have been looking forward to both playing the game themselves courtesy of a console release as well as the possible addition of new characters to the relatively limited cast. Recent screenshots from the story mode have featured a new character that hasn’t been seen in previous versions of the game, leading many to believe she may be playable in the upcoming ports. Now, the latest issue of Famitsu has more on this fresh face, who they have confirmed will be joining the cast when Xrd hits PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 later this year.
According to the Japanese magazine, newcomer Elphelt uses rifles and shotguns to snipe and deal damage from a distance. Additionally, their article mentions her having unique mechanics that allow her to aim and reload like a character from a first-person shoooter. Elphelt will initially be free-of-charge for those who purchase first-print copies of the game, though fans who opt to wait a bit will be given the option to purchase the character for ¥800 (~$8 USD).
Elphelt and fellow console character Sin Kiske will be playable at Tokyo Game Show later this month, so stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, you can check out the scans from Famitsu below.
