Though its release was less than a month ago, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late has quickly found a foothold in a North American community that hasn’t been able to play the game themselves until it arrived on consoles.

Developed by French-Bread and Ecole Software of Melty Blood fame, the title mixes a cast full of fresh faces (as well as a couple crossover guests) with unique gameplay mechanics into a package that has piqued the interests of fighting game players from all walks of life. This success recently saw In-Birth make an appearance at east coast weekly Next Level Battle Circuit, and a recent announcement from the organizers of West Coast Warzone has provided the game its major debut in the United States.

This weekend, it was revealed that Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late will be replacing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at West Coast Warzone 4. The announcement cites a lack of interest from the Tekken community as the deciding factor in this decision. While the title has seen some great competition courtesy of online and local events, it should be interesting to see how it fares on a much larger stage.

West Coast Warzone 4 is scheduled for September 5-7 in Orange, California. Further information can be found on their official website.
