For anyone eagerly awaiting the console release of Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX, here’s some good news: Sega’s crossover fighting game will be releasing for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on November 13. A brand new trailer was released to coincide with this announcement, which you’ll find below.
FIGHTING CLIMAX celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint by bringing together characters from multiple franchises, such as Sword Art Online, Toradora!, Black Bullet, Shakugan no Shana, and more. French-Bread and Ecole Software of Melty Blood fame served as the chief developers on the project, pairing their fighting game pedigree with this interesting concept for a unique experience.
When it launches in November, the console version will include a number of new modes not in the arcade version, including the Dream Duel mode, which allows players to enjoy conversation events between the characters, and (of course) netplay. Points earned playing the game’s various modes can be spent to unlock special content as well as alternate colors for the characters.
FIGHTING CLIMAX on PlayStation 3 will retail for ¥6980 (~$68 USD) while the price of the portable PlayStation Vita version is set at ¥6170 (~$60 USD).
As for a western release, nothing has been stated at this point, so stay tuned for more details.
