In May, Kevin “PPMD” Nanney signed with Evil Geniuses after moving on from VG BootCamp. In the footage below, Nanney talks about his history with Super Smash Bros. Melee, why Smash appeals to him, and the origin of his unusual handle.
PPMD took first place at Apex 2014 after defeating Evo 2013 champion Joseph “Mango” Marquez of Cloud9 (then sponsored by Melee It On Me) as well as other top Smash players. Naturally, he plans to join 970 other Smash players at this year’s Evolution Championship Series, where he will represent Evil Geniuses and perhaps continue his reign as one of the world’s best Smash players.
If you’re unfamiliar with Nanney or the Smash scene in general, give the video below some of your time.
