Yesterday, a story made its way around the community regarding an interview Kyodo News conducted with Capcom president Haruhito Tsujimoto. During this discussion, Tsujimoto apparently mentioned the possibility of adding a pay model to the next installment of the Street Fighter series (referred to as Street Fighter V) to make it easier for new players to hold their own against more experienced competitors.
As we said in our previous article, these supposed remarks came from one of the corporation’s highest executives and were made regarding a game that is very likely in the earliest stages of development, if even being worked on at all at this point.
That story was later clarified by Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono, who said they have no plans to implement such a model.
Early this morning, Capcom went one step further, providing a statement that outright refuses Tsujimoto mentioned the idea of allowing players to pay for advantages in future Street Fighter titles. The press release also mentions that his comments should obviously not be seen as official announcements.

A certain media organization carried an interview with Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto. Regarding the reference to a pay system in the interview article, Haruhiro Tsujimoto did not make any comments on adjusting strength of characters in the game by using this type of system.
Furthermore, details regarding “Street Fighter 5″, including the title itself, were not officially announced at this point.
