After partnering with Bavo Bruylandt earlier this year to host his fantastic ranking system for Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012, work quickly began on adding in new games. While functionality for Killer Instinct and Skullgirls was integrated quietly over the past few months, we are happy to announce that the world rankings system now officially includes support for Capcom’s other major fighter: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3!

Much like the Street Fighter rankings, this system compiles tournament results and assigns players points depending on both their placing and the event’s overall skill. This makes opinions a much smaller part of the equation and allows consistent performance to dictate a player’s spot in the full list.

Below, you’ll find a preview of the top ten players currently ranked in our system.

World Rank Name Score Base Score
1 GG|NYChrisG 8704 11750
2 EG|Justin Wong 6389 9280
3 Flocker 5792 8040
4 RG|Filipino Champ 5767 8315
5 EG|PR Balrog 3847 7065
6 CTRL|RayRay 2245 2655
7 EMP|Yipes 2122 3370
8 Neo 2117 2665
9 MMG|Apologyman 1669 1890
10 EMP|Dieminion 1638 2605

One of the new features that has been added to the rankings since launch is score decay. This makes points earned at older tournaments eventually begin to diminish, and their influence on the rankings lessens along with it. In the above table, the Score column reflects what players are being ranked on after score decay takes effect, and Base Score is their full collection of points without any adjustment.

The rankings have also been expanded with a huge amount of new results, and the search system has been upgraded significantly since they were first unveiled.

We are still in the process of perfecting the system, but at this point in time its functions are very similar to Street Fighter’s. For a full breakdown of how it works, be sure to visit the rankings’ FAQ page for more details.

As with anything of this nature, nothing is 100% perfect, and that’s where the community comes in. We are always looking for any constructive feedback you may have, so feel free to contact us through the official discussion thread and our contact form.

Stay tuned, as work has already begun on adding the next game and it would be an injustice if you missed out!
